Since its foundation in 1996, İstanbul Bilgi University continues to organize academic and cultural activities in contribution
to the world of science and arts. In line with Bilgi's founding mission of being an urban university, these activities take
place on the university's two centrally located campuses, with participation by academics, students and city dwellers.
A multitude of conferences, seminars, exhibitions, shows and festivals organized by Bilgi host both nationally and internationally renowned guests.
In the 2000-2001 academic year, Bilgi hosted 129 scientific and artistic activities; with an increase of up to 246 in the following year. In the 2002-2003 academic year 89 scientific and artistic activities took place, proceeded by 356 in the academic year 2003-2004 and 492 in the academic year 2004-2005.
